Description

The UB001 All-Terrain Engineering Crane is an extremely large and highly detailed construction-block model designed to replicate the appearance, mechanical structure, and operating functions of a professional heavy-duty mobile crane. The model combines a long multi-axle chassis, telescopic boom system, hydraulic-style support mechanisms, counterweights, rotating work platform, steering system, and remote-controlled motorized functions.

🏗️ Realistic Heavy-Duty Crane Design

The crane features a massive multi-axle vehicle chassis designed to give the model the appearance of a genuine heavy-duty all-terrain crane. Its long wheelbase and numerous independently detailed wheels create an impressive engineering-machine appearance.

The model uses a distinctive red, black, gray, and white industrial color scheme, complemented by warning stripes, mechanical detailing, counterweights, cables, structural beams, and realistic construction-equipment styling.

🔴 Telescopic Main Boom

One of the main features is the multi-section telescopic boom mounted on the crane’s rotating superstructure.

The boom is constructed from multiple sections that can extend and retract, allowing the crane to transform from a compact transportation configuration into a tall lifting machine.

The advanced version supports a 5-section boom configuration, providing a maximum displayed height of approximately 2.8 meters when fully configured.

The boom incorporates:

  • Multiple telescoping sections
  • Reinforced structural construction
  • Cable routing
  • Boom elevation mechanism
  • Hook and lifting system
  • Mechanical extension/retraction
  • Replaceable boom configurations
  • Detailed gear and linkage mechanisms

🏢 Rotating Crane Superstructure

The crane’s upper working platform is mounted on a 360° rotating mechanism.

This allows the crane body and boom assembly to rotate around the chassis, reproducing the basic movement of a real mobile crane.

The rotating platform uses a large gear-based mechanism designed to provide smooth and controlled rotation.

🦿 Stabilizer / Support-Leg System

The model includes multiple deployable support legs/outriggers.

These legs can extend outward from the chassis and lower toward the ground, creating a much wider support footprint when the crane is operating.

The system is designed to simulate the stabilizing function of real heavy lifting equipment.

Features include:

  • Extendable support arms
  • Lowering support feet
  • Independent mechanical movement
  • Wide operating footprint
  • Detailed gear-driven mechanisms
  • Retractable configuration for transportation

⚖️ Modular Counterweight System

The crane incorporates a substantial counterweight assembly at the rear of the superstructure.

The counterweights are modular, allowing individual weight sections to be added or removed depending on the desired configuration.

This gives the model a realistic representation of how large mobile cranes use counterweights to improve stability during lifting operations.

The counterweight structure also features reinforced frame construction and detailed mechanical attachment points.

🪝 Working Hook & Cable System

The boom incorporates a detailed lifting cable and hook assembly.

The cable runs through the boom structure and terminates in a realistic crane hook/block.

The mechanism allows the hook to be raised and lowered, giving the model an authentic crane-operation appearance.

🚛 Multi-Axle Chassis

The lower chassis is one of the most visually impressive parts of the model.

It features a long multi-axle configuration with numerous wheels, giving the crane excellent visual scale and a realistic heavy-haul appearance.

The chassis incorporates:

  • Multiple steering axles
  • Detailed suspension-style components
  • Reinforced frame structure
  • Multiple gear mechanisms
  • Drive components
  • Individual wheel detailing
  • Heavy-duty construction

🔄 Advanced Steering System

The crane uses an advanced multi-mode all-wheel steering system.

The steering mechanism supports several configurations, including:

1. All-wheel steering
Multiple axles turn in coordinated directions to provide tighter maneuverability.

2. Crab steering
The wheels can be positioned in the same general direction, allowing the entire vehicle to move diagonally.

3. Front-wheel steering
The front steering axles operate similarly to a conventional vehicle.

4. Rear-wheel steering
The rear steering axles provide an alternative maneuvering configuration.

The design also allows additional steering modes depending on the configuration.

⚙️ Motorized Power System

The model is designed around a multi-motor power system.

The configuration shown in your images includes:

  • 5 × M motors
  • 6 × L motors
  • 5 × XL motors
  • 4 × lithium battery units
  • Remote-control system

The combination of different motor sizes allows separate mechanisms to be powered according to their required torque and movement.

🎮 Remote Control & Multi-Function Operation

The crane is designed for remote-controlled operation, allowing multiple mechanical functions to be operated without manually moving the model.

Depending on the configuration, the remote system can control functions such as:

  • Crane rotation
  • Boom movement
  • Boom extension/retraction
  • Hook raising/lowering
  • Stabilizer deployment
  • Support-leg movement
  • Steering
  • Vehicle movement
  • Counterweight movement
  • Cab/work-platform movement

The system is intended to provide a simulation-style crane operating experience rather than being merely a static display model.

🛠️ Detailed Mechanical Engineering

A major selling point of the model is the amount of mechanical detail incorporated into its construction.

The structure uses numerous gears, axles, beams, connectors, reinforced frames, motors, linkages, shafts, and moving assemblies.

The chassis incorporates a multi-layer reinforced frame structure, while carbon-fiber-style shafts are used in the transmission system to improve rigidity and mechanical accuracy.

🧩 Huge Construction Set

The standard configuration shown in your images contains approximately 10,400 pieces, while the advanced configuration shown includes approximately 11,660 pieces.

This makes it substantially larger and more complex than a typical construction-block vehicle.

The finished crane is intended to be both:

  • A large engineering construction project
  • A functional remote-controlled display model

📏 Impressive Scale

The model is approximately 1:20 scale.

The displayed dimensions include approximately:

  • 120.8 cm overall length
  • 38.7 cm width
  • 29 cm transport height
  • Approximately 2.5 m height with one boom configuration
  • Up to approximately 2.8 m with the extended/advanced boom configuration

The exact expanded height can vary depending on the boom angle and configuration.

🔧 Modular Construction

The crane is not simply a single fixed model. Its design allows different assemblies to be configured and expanded.

The boom can be changed between different configurations, while additional crane components and support assemblies can be attached.

This modular approach gives the model a strong DIY engineering and customization aspect.

🎯 Who Is It For?

The model is particularly suited for:

  • Engineering-model enthusiasts
  • Construction-vehicle collectors
  • Advanced building-block enthusiasts
  • Remote-control model hobbyists
  • Crane enthusiasts
  • Mechanical-design enthusiasts
  • Large-scale display collectors
  • Teenagers and adults interested in engineering

Because of its enormous piece count and mechanical complexity, it is much better suited to experienced builders and older users than to young children.
